Conflict Free City Initiative - PDX

Conflict Free City Initiative (CFCI) calls upon cities/states/universities to pass resolutions which express the city's preference, as a large consumer and holder of major purchasing contracts from companies, for conflict-free products. Such initiatives encourage industry and others to do more to source minerals from eastern Congo that benefits communities rather than fuel the cycle of rape and war.  https://enoughproject.org/get-involved/cfci/cf-cities

Between Fall 2012 and August 2015, we worked with city staff and counsel members to craft a resolution for the City of Portland which passed, unanimously on August 26, 2015!
